Major challenge in London [17-Feb-2010]

MAGIRUS turntable ladders have been developed and built to deal with tough operational situations. But which extreme situations might arise during call-outs is always impressive. In this respect, the London Fire Brigade reports of a spectacular incident whereby MAGIRUS turntable ladders had proved themselves in an outstanding fashion. It was on 10. July 2009, around lunchtime, that a major fi re broke out in a fourstorey offi ce building in Dean Street (Camden Town/Soho District) in the heart of London. At one point, 20 tank pumpers and three turntable ladders were in continuous operation; approx. 100 fi re fi ghters worked in shifts.

First to arrive at the scene was the MAGIRUS turntable ladder from the Paddington Fire Station. The photos show just how bad the conditions were that confronted it and are more than impressive! All the more convincing then that the technology once again proved itself throughout in such an extreme situation. The fi re fi ghters were impressed – and, after this successfully completed operation will swear all the more for MAGIRUS products.
